I made this tea in honour of my gorgeous mother-in-law who passed away recently. I plan on drinking copious amounts of it at her wake, and hopefully I can get a few others to partake as well! It's delicious, lightly spiced with a subtle hint of orange. Guaranteed to warm the heart and make the tears flow smoothly.
Ingredients:
4 cups boiling water
8 green cardamom pods
4 black tea bags. I used Rooibos Chai but you could just plain Roobios (Red Bush) or ordinary gumboot.
2 tsp orange blossom water
Method:
Gently crush the cardamom pods and place them in a saucepan along with the water.
Bring to a simmer.
Add the tea bags then bring the water to a boil.
Turn off the heat and let the tea steep for 5 minutes.
Stir in 2 tsp of orange blossom water then pour into teacups and serve.
(Alternatively, if you have a tea pot with a built in infuser you could just place the cardamom pods and teabags inside the infuser then pour over the boiling water. After 5 minutes add the orange blossom water.)
Enjoy!

Orange and cardamom what could be better in the winter evening? Fragrant drink will cheer up your combination of tastes.
OMG sounds delicious! Where do you get orange blossom water from?
@timidwarrior I just found it at my local supermarket near the vanilla essence and stuff. Otherwise a deli or specialty food store should have it. x
Honoured you shared this with us @mrs-d xxx
Are you ever going to publish a book of all your drinks?
No plans to @liberty! I have suggested it to my publishers but they weren’t keen… they are all here on this page though so easy to find. x
