September 28th, 2018 Drink of the Week
This drink is lovely! The syrup base makes enough for quite a few drinks and will keep in the fridge for 3-4 days.
Ingredients:
1 cup pear juice (or apple & pear)
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
2 tbsp honey
1 sprig fresh rosemary
1 small piece of ginger peeled and sliced into rounds
Small grating of fresh nutmeg (or a pinch of ground nutmeg)
Ice
Sodawater
Method:
* Combine the pear juice, lemon juice, honey, rosemary, ginger & nutmeg in a small pot
* Bring to the boil – stirring – then turn off and leave to cool for 30 mins
* Strain syrup into a jug
* To mix each drink pour 2-3tbsp of syrup over ice in a tall glass then top up with soda water

It seems like a random thing to do (dip a whole chilli into your glass) but this is actually an amazing drink!

Sometimes I have this fleeting thought that I’m actually kidding myself that I’m still fun now that I’m sober… and in actual fact most people are privately thinking to themselves ‘oh that boring sober Mrs D with her boring sober life, who’d want to know her?’.
