Mulled Grape Juice

June 28th, 2019 Drink of the Week

china tea cup filled with dark grape juice

I made to share with a group of girlfriends who were coming over. I made it in the slow cooker (crockpot) in the afternoon so that the flavours had time to infuse.. by the time my guests arrived the house was filled with the delicious scent of warming spices. You could add whatever flavourings you like – this is just what I had in the pantry.

Ingredients:

1ltr dark grape juice
2 cinnamon sticks
2 star anise
2 cardamom pods
2 whole cloves
2-3 peels of orange zest
Juice of 1 orange

Method:

Combine all ingredients in a saucepan on the stove or in a slow cooker and heat slowly for at least half an hour to let the flavours infuse.
Serve in your favourite tea cup or mug.

Enjoy!
