August 21st, 2023 Drink of the Week
This is straightforward to make but taking care with the preparation is very important (according to the many recipes I consulted online!). Enjoy it hot straight from the pot or cool over ice cubes the next day.
A handful of fresh mint
2 green teabags (approx 3 tsp tea)
Sweetener to taste (I used 2 tbsp white sugar but you could use any sugar or add a little honey or agave)
4 cups boiling water
* Boil the water and put a small amount into your teapot, swishing it around to warm the pot
* Add in the mint, green tea & sweetener, then top with the remaining hot water
* Leave to brew for 3 minutes while you set out your glasses/cups
* Fill just one glass with tea then pour it back into the pot – repeat this a couple of times to get the blend going and dissolve the sugar
* Pour out all the glasses
* Garnish with a little more fresh mint
Enjoy!

(Warning: Long Post with some science-y stuff in the middle) I’m kind of reluctant to post this because – honestly – worrying about sugar etc is the LAST THING YOU SHOULD BE DOING if you are new at sobriety.
