June 17th, 2024 Drink of the Week
This is simple with only two ingredients and a couple of garnishes but even the simple act of combining two liquids over ice and adding a slice of lemon can feel very treaty! Tonic is sweet but it has a tart edge thanks to the quinine in it.
Fruit juice
Tonic water
Ice cubes
Lemon slices
* Put ice in a glass.
* Pour in a good splash of fruit juice (I used peach juice which I found at my local deli – a little bit posh! But you could use apple juice, cherry juice, orange juice, pear juice, any fruit juice you like).
* Fill to the top with cold tonic water.
* Garnish with a slice of lemon.
Enjoy!
"I was sick and tired of being sick and tired, so something just clicked in me that I had a whole bunch of work to get on with and I had to do it for myself."
