I just had a craving for something thirst quenching, slightly spicy and filling at the same time.. so whipped this baby up! I keep old bananas frozen in the freezer for just such a thing. Chai teabags are easy to find in the herbal tea section of the supermarket.
Ingredients:
1 frozen banana (or 1 ripe banana and some ice cubes)
1 cup milk of choice (I used unsweetened almond milk)
1 cup cooled chai tea
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp allspice
1 tbsp honey
Method:
Blitz all ingredients together until smooth.
Enjoy!
Sounds delicious 🙂
I did,’t know almonds had milk.
Hint: peel bananas before freezing in zip lock bag then you don’t need to deal with squishy black banana skin when you come to use them.
I would change the honey for rice syrup to or Argave to make it vegan. Gonna try this. Sounds great.
FAUX SQUIRT
As a kid I loved the grapefruit-flavored soda pop called ‘Squirt’ here in the USA. Here is my adult replica…
In a tall glass: One part 100% unsweetened grapefruit juice (I used Ocean Spray brand) and three parts unflavored sparkling water (Pellegrino is grand and impressive, but any will do).
Tart, refreshing, and alcohol free!
This sounds great. That is one thing I have struggled with when you go to bars – often they don’t have non-alcoholic offerings that are not riddled with sugar. I resort to drinking soda water with a squirt of fresh lime or lemon juice. However, this sounds perfect – thanks for sharing this. Hope you’re doing well!
