February 4th, 2019 Drink of the Week
This is a great drink if you’re hosting friends or have family over. The quantities listed here make a good full jug’s worth. I love the tartness of the grapefruit mixed with the sweet ginger ale.
Place sugar, water and mint leaves into a saucepan
Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until sugar has dissolved
Set aside until cold
Combine syrup with grapefruit juice
Just before serving, add ginger ale & ice cubes
Garnish with slices of lemon & mint leaves
Enjoy!
This guest post comes from my lovely friend Ali Ikram – a man who grew up in New Zealand drinking alcohol regularly, until one day he realised he had a choice in the matter….

That’s our biggest fear when we quit drinking isn’t it … that other people are going to think we are boring sober losers who are to be avoided at all costs.
