I'm so proud of this Living Sober website and the community we have built here. It seems like only yesterday that I was stuck and miserable with my drinking, feeling alone in my struggles. I first discovered the power of online support through the anonymous blog I started writing when I first quit drinking, and through a few strokes of good fortune managed to translate what I learned from the online blogging space into the creation of this community. If you're interested in hearing the story of how Living Sober came about, and the people behind the scenes who helped bring it to life (and keep it alive), watch this short video story below. Mrs D x
Listen to city counsellor Matty talk about the boozy rugby culture of his youth, life in the navy, reaching rock bottom with his drinking, reconnecting with his family and Pasifika culture in sobriety, and the rewarding work he now does within his community.
