December 24th, 2024 Drink of the Week
Adding a whole lot of chopped fresh fruit and mint leaves to this mixture takes it to the next level of flavour! This would be great to make if you were hosting, a jug of this on any table would make the whole meal more festive. Quantities and fruits are only suggestions, mix it up however you like. For example, you could use fresh basil leaves instead of mint, add frozen cranberries if you can get them or slice up a fresh lemon or lime.
1 litre cranberry juice
Juice of 2 oranges (about 1 cup)
750ml fizzy water
1 orange, cut into 1 cm slices with the peel on, then cut each slice into quarters
1 apple, cut into small cubes with the skin on
Fresh mint leaves
Fruity coconut water ice cubes
In a large jug, combine cranberry juice, orange juice, and fizzy water. Add fruit and mint and stir to combine.
Pour over the fruty coconut water ice cubes.
Enjoy!
Occasionally I get asked to speak at events about my drinking and sobriety story.

Some mornings I wake up inexplicably happy to be sober - still, after 12 years!

Someone was trying to tell me the other day that ‘sober’ is a negative word with staid and boring connotations.
