Mulled Apple Juice

June 5th, 2020 Drink of the Week 1 comment

apple juice in glass and apples

The weather is getting cooler here in New Zealand and that means it’s time for lovely warm and spicy drinks! I haven’t put any quantities down for any of the ingredients as it depends on how many drinks you’re making and how spicy and sweet you like things. Use cloudy apple juice if you can.

Ingredients:

Apple juice
Honey
Fresh ginger – peeled and thinly sliced
Ground nutmeg
Orange zest

Method:

Put all the ingredients in a small pot on a low heat and bring to a gentle simmer – do not boil!
Leave to simmer for 5-10 minutes then strain into your glass.
Twist in a slice of orange zest to garnish.

Enjoy!

My big turning point – the point where I stopped drinking and got sober – came the morning after I hid wine from Mr D for the first time.

Why I Love Being Sober

Mrs D's Blog

I love being sober because I never have to waste any emotional energy worrying about how much booze I sank last night, or physical energy healing my body after yet another wine binge.
