I made this on my birthday the other night. Having it simmering away on the stove, filling the house with delicious scents was as lovely as drinking it. I really believe that going to the effort of making ourselves delicious alcohol-free drinks is a powerful self-care move, one that we should do often! Use whatever spices you have handy - ground cinnamon and/or nutmeg would work as would ground or fresh ginger.
Dark grape juice
3-4 cardomom pods
2-3 whole star annise
1 cinnamon stick
Couple of whole cloves
Place all ingredients in a pot on the stove and simmer gently until warm
Pour into your most special mug or glass
