Well this is all rather exciting! After four years of existence our site is getting a major facelift. This week we are launching a new, rebuilt, revamped and rebranded Living Sober.
The rebuild has happened primarily because we’ve been having technical issues for many months now where community members write updates inside the Members Feed in our Community Area, and then when they go to hit publish their words disappear into the ether. Very frustrating to say the least.
It was determined after months of trying to fix the problem that the foundation this site was originally built on was just not fit for purpose – it was clunky and problematic, and we’re too big and busy.
So the site has been rebuilt on a new platform and in the process we’ve taken the opportunity to restyle and rebrand as well. So when we relaunch we’ll look quite different, but fundamentally we’ll be the same with the same tools, pages and areas we have now (sober toolbox, blog pages, sober calculators, Community Area/Members Feed etc).
However – in order for our techies to migrate all the data from this site over to the new one they need to take us offline completely for three days.
This will commence on Wednesday the 21st of November.
So be warned! If you visit us on this day (or the days after) and we’re not here, it’s not a disaster, it’s a carefully planned take down. And after 3 days we’ll be back up and running with our fancy new space to hang out in.
