Site accessibility – Contrast and font size

Site SupportCategory: General ErrorsSite accessibility – Contrast and font size

One of the pieces of feedback we received was that the sites contrast was not high enough, which made it harder to read. The font size was also pointed to as being too small. Site accessibility is super important to us so please let us know if there is something else that is hard to read/use because of sizing or colour.

Site Contrast: I have updated the theme colours to make text entry boxes have a pure white background and have also set the base font size to “almost” pure black.

Regarding font size: The base font size of the site is 16px. This is the current unofficial web standard. As such for those who wish to have a larger font I would recommend the following:

To increase the font size on just livingsober.org apply a zoom to the page – your browser should remember this setting from session to session (certainly Chrome does)

To do this on a pc or linux machine hold the “Ctrl” key and press the “+” key to zoom in (press “-” to zoom out)

To do this on an apple mac hold the “command” key and press the “+” key to zoom in (press “-” to zoom out)

The alternative is to change the base font size of your browser – this article talks you through how to do this https://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000779.htm
