Orange Flower Water

My step-mother handed me a glass of what looked like ordinary tap water a couple of weeks ago and said ‘try this’. I did and boy were looks deceiving … it was delicious!!!!!! A delicately flavoured elderflower & orange blossom drink. Play around with the flavourings (add more elderflower cordial for example if you like it sweeter), and ideally it should be served with lots of ice.

Ingredients (for each drink):
1 glass (approx 250 ml) still water
1 desert spoon (approx 10ml) elderflower cordial
1/2 – 1 tsp orange blossom water (to taste)
Ice

Method:
Combine ingredients in your glass of choice and top with ice.

Enjoy!

This is a very refreshing drink. I added some mint and a slice of lime from the garden. Delicious.

I have never heard of elderflower syrup that has no alcohol in it. I thought it was only in things like St Germaine which has alcohol. I’m glad to know you can get the flavor without the alcohol!

Hi @delgirl68 and @drinkerbell you should be able to find orange blossom water and elderflower cordial at a delicatessen or really good grocery store … another option would be to use rose water in place of the orange blossom water – just go easy on the quantities or you’ll end up with a drink that tastes like perfume! x My step-mother recommends the Aroha range of elderflower cordial http://www.arohadrinks.co.nz/aroha-drinks/cordials/elderflower-cordial

Where can I find orange blossom water? It sounds lovely but I can’t recall ever coming across it before.

I reckon you’d be able to find it at a Persian, Middle Eastern or possibly a Greek grocers, or at a fancy deli/international food shop.
