Today my counter reads 730 days – two years of taking control of my body and mind. I just got home to find a card left by a friend that had those very words written inside, along with a gorgeous enamel lotus pin to wear. Today was a funny day, had moments of joy and then moments of flat. I did enjoy the fact that I had my own secret anniversary to think about in my head as I plodded through the work day, everyone else around me none the wiser. I feel good, I feel like me, I feel resolute. Every single day that I don’t pick up that first drink, I am deciding to take control of my future and love myself. I am building myself up to be the best person that I can be on that day, and then I do it all over again the following day. So simple, but so free. I send love to all those who need it, and strength to those that need it. To those in the first days, weeks, months, I was you not so long ago. Keep it small, keep it simple. You deserve freedom. Arohanui ki a koutou xo
