In the ten years or so since my children flew the nest, my drinking escalated to the 7 - 11 beers/night, (occasionally more or less) until my quit date of 12/5/2016. I was the functional alcoholic type, although I was slowly becoming less functional. My freedom from alcohol has now helped me to turn that around.Married 38 years, with children & grandchildren. Still working, although now planning and working towards retirement. Update: I joined this forum in early February 2017, it is now May 19, 2017 at my day 166. I'm grateful to all here, you've been an immense help. Further update, now it is October 20th, 2017 and 320 days. This has been a most interesting period in my life, and those here are certainly an important part of it.
Grandaughters here, today only. Love having them here, but sometimes its nice to see taillights at the end of the day. I have to go get the travel trailer out of storage, leaving tomorrow for four nights on Lake Huron. A Dark Sky area near there, and I was excited about that because of the Persoid meteor shower, then realized that our full moon is Thursday. Oh well. Need to cut the lawn before I go, farmers market a few blocks away this morning, Sandy mentioned miniature golf, and the county fair ends today. See, no room for alcohol. Alcohol would get in the way of living life. Happy AF weekend, everybody.
