Greetings All, I just want to let you know that all is well, I really got away from posting this month, not sure why, it’s weird how
Its so easy to get out of the habit, I haven’t been misbehaving, but have felt a little bit detached from the regular feed back that
I get from you, Its easy to forget how desperate I was to get free, now…[Read more]
Hi @Thor yes that’s partly why I stay around, and the other part is that some of these people here know more about me, my thoughts and feelings, than most people in my real life. I love the connection. Although I too have been here less of late, and understand that feeling of detachment from here, with the site getting so big and all. It’s nice to…[Read more]
Greetings All,. Well we survived the Polar Vortex, I have been working long hours and over the weekend as well,. Lots of frozen pipes and fan coils,
Even my well at home froze but no damage thankfully, I hope all is well in your world, 40 degrees today, and the snow is melting, lots of Love
To the morning crew, happy monday!
What a powerful force ‘mother nature’ is – watching our national news as I read this… polar vortex, epic flooding and fires from drought conditions – pleased that you are now on the other side of the extreme climate conditions in your part of the world @thor.
Heck. Sounds wild. I have never been in such temperatures, nothing less than… mmm I wonder, -5 perhaps? We are heading into a heatwave sent by Australia. I don’t do at all well in heat, so my crazy busy schedule looks worrying. 🙁 The media was warning people not to drink as it can be so dehydrating. Nice to be a step or 50 ahead 😉
Good morning to you Thor!! Always a wee bit of a guilty pleasure to beat Thor-o-clock…looks like today I did. Lol. Drive safe and safe working….they closed a few schools down here…not mine….of course. Sigh. 🙂
Greetings All, Thank you so much for all the great input on sugar addiction, Mrs Thor thanks you! Some great ideas.
Nothing really new but just chugging along on the sober train, get on board!! Lots of love..
Greetings All, monday morning , back to it, sitting by the fire with my coffee, Spring is on my mind already, did some treadmill running
On Saturday, Thinking about the 5K on the 4th of July already, Hope you all had a victorious weekend.
Any tips on beating sugar addiction, Mrs Thor struggles with this, and asked for my help so I’m a…[Read more]
Morning there, @thor. Enjoying my coffee too. No fire, but candles are making it cozy. I wish I had some advice for the sugar addiction. It is not something I know a lot about. I am sure you be hearing from some experts soon. Have a great week ahead.
Hi Thor, some make treats with low glycemic sweetners. Personally, they effect me negatively so I have to use them sparingly. I am back on keto again for the billionth time lol for after holiday clean up. The keto desserts do help get you over the hump. Take care good to see you. @Thor.
Good god, no; no tips on the sugar addiction. I am taking it one addiction at a time, though I am well aware of the link. But, I will say that energy balls are a great substitute and do satisfy the craving, likely because they have fruit in them: grind dates, oats, natural (no sugar) peanut butter, unsweetened coconut, and pecans or walnuts and…[Read more]
@Frog, I was taking tumeri c capsules and develop ed a rash. So bummed because it really helped my back pain. Never had the reaction before and wonder if I can take it in lower doses and whether that would even work?
Was there black pepper with the turmeric @robynb? That is often added for greater efficacy but some people react to black pepper. Alternatively it might be something else in the capsules; a filler or something. Might be worth experimenting with a different brand.
Hi Thor. I am really trying to just enjoy small bites to be savoured of a very good chocolate. That seems to help my sugar cravings. I have also discovered I really like expresso. The joy of small pleasures!
@Thor I have to treat sugar much the way I do alcohol. It is a trigger substance for me that I find difficult to moderate. It’s besy when I abstain altogether from added sugars and enjoy foods with naturally occurring sugars. A few good reads on this topic are Dr Pamela Peeke and Dr Robert Lustig.
The best advice someone gave me was to cut out one thing at a time. If you drink regular soda, try to cut that out, then maybe it’s sweets before bedtime. Or opt for a healthy snack that doesn’t send the blood sugar all over the place.
No tips on getting through it as I’m not particularly trying to quit, but I’ve noticed I crave sugar when I’m tired or when my gut is overfull and can’t digest well, or after carbs. When it’s digestion I specifically don’t want fruit for some reason….adding fibre would only make it worse I suppose….
That at least gives me some clues about…[Read more]

Lots of love right back at you, Thor!!!! I can’t believe it will soonish be two years since we first met here and signed up. oxoxoxoxo What a privilege to share this journey here with you. Happy Mon-yeah! (also safe driving, our rain down here seems to maybe turn into ice rain later today….yikes…)
Good afternoon @Thor – sorry for late reply. I think of you often as I rise earlier than I used to these days. I still think of that dawn time as “Thor o’clock” 🙂 Hope you are well, it’s a typical summers day here where I am, have been to the beach twice 🙂 621 days, so awesome xo
Good morning @thor. Slight warm up this week and maybe we’ll even see a peek of the sun?! My niece has been accepted to Northwestern. She’s over the moon! They celebrated last night with a big cookie cake with the wildcat logo. 😊
