Update:- June 2019 ~
After three years, three months of alcohol-free living, teetotal is the way I want to be for the rest of my days. This freedom from addiction is great. There are still down days as well as up days, but that's Life. I am much happier living sans Demon Drink.Whatever comes our way we can get through it without alcohol. Deep breathing always helps. ~ Just experience all of your feelings and let them wash through, then they will pass, and you will heal. ღ
Much love and appreciation to all members who are on this journey.
Some people do and some don’t drop weight, @Bravo. Right now, your Number One focus is to stay alcohol free. That is your most important goal at present.
32 days is a marvellous start to this journey, but it’s a short time compared with the drinking history most of us have. It will take time for your body to adjust to going without, and it depends what we eat in its place, whether our activity uses up all of that energy.
Thanks @Odette. I think it was a good idea to handle one challenge at a time. I am ready to kick up the exercise and cut back on the treats. Wish me luck with the upcoming holidays. I will be in the kitchen a lot. This year without the obligatory glass of wine or 4!
The same thing happened to me around nine months @AquariAn. -Am also on med’s which help somewhat. Think of the reasons why you decided to stop drinking. Fast forward in your mind, the way Mrs D recommends to keep it real. The idea of drinking alcohol is so much more attractive than the outcome specially if you relapse. 🙁 You have come a long way. Keep up the wonderful work. 🙂
Thanks for the mention, @liberty. Yes, I’m chugging along happily sans alcohol. 🙂 Another thirty days and I’ll be at my two year anniversary. Yay. Best of all, I’ve NOT spent $5,000.00 on wines. That also is a big plus.
