    Made it through day 6, by the skin of my teeth. Almost buckled, but reading on here and a few tonic and limes and a dog walk got me through. Having a hot shower and body scrub and hitting my bed with a herbal sleepy tea and a new book. I don’t know about anyone else but I think my favourite sober time is going to bed, it’s like Yay you bloody did it! Looking forward to my first hangover free weekend for years and years. Much love everyone😍😍😍😍😍

    • Well done!! That’s the key!! Don’t just cut alcohol out of your life! Add something to it 🙂 you did great 🙂 keep it up! Will be celebrating this weekend by being sober with you 🙂

      • @narley thanks, I am totally focusing on the positives, how I managed to cram 2-3 bottles of wine a day and still get so much done baffles me, I have 3 jobs and a family. For now I’m trying to sleep more which is a new concept in itself, but loving slowly coming alive inside and out. All I can think of its how I’ve battled through days exhausted, tired, depressed, angry, not one bit of drinking has ever been beneficial. Even when slaughtered I can’t even imagine the sorry state I looked or sounded, what a waste. But that’s in the past now. It’s a bare knuckle ride for the next few months but like my favourite saying says every journeys end has a beginning. Hope you have a lovely weekend too 😊

    • Well done Noodles! I feel exactly the same as you – once I get to bedtime, I feel amazing! I am used to going to bed quite early, so really once I get to around 7pm I start to feel relieved that I didn’t give in to temptation. Enjoy your herbal tea and hope your book is a good one. 🙂

      Awesome job @noodle71! I’m on Day 17, so not too far ahead of you. Other things to add to your “sober toolbox” if you haven’t already: listen to sober podcasts, read quit-lit books and check in here often. All of these helped me immensely in the beginning. So many good podcast discussions that are on the topic that is most helpful to you right now. My favorites have become Alcohol Free Life by Janet Lee Grace and the Bubble Hour. I’ve also been told about Recovery Elevator and Soberful. Hang in there! You’ve got this. Enjoy your sober weekend. 😊 this is my 3rd since quitting and it’s getting easier and more enjoyable each time. ❤️

    • Boom! And you did it! You whupped that urges butt! On to day 7. I agree with you 100% Bedtime is my favorite sober time – second only to waking up in the morning hangover free. That just never gets old. Congrats!
