12.24.16>> decided, with my husbands support and standing by me, to live the second half of life [over 50] without alcohol, after a gazillion D1's. Sorry to myself it's taken this long to make this decision..but better late than never. The best is yest to come, the past is gone forever!

One goal >> Get on my Ducati and [enjoy] riding again. Plus basking in D200, a day I never thought my alcohol soaked body would live to see! Live with Love in your heart & Wonder in your eyes!
Hey all, hope all is very well with everyone. Very busy catching up on all the things I couldn’t do when my old hips were giving out. My new hips, hip recovery and alcohol recovery have given me my life back. Thank you to everyone who has encouraged me. Couldn’t have made it without you all. Peace + Love to everyone l! Remember, don’t drink today….

Well I’m up to walking two miles a day on my 2 new hips!! We’re talking mountian terrain, one mile uphill, one mile downhill!! Whewwww. Every day gets a little better. Been seven weeks since the operation, I want to be all better now!! But it really is getting a little better every day. I am very very grateful. Peace + Love to all! xxx
Once a body is moving, it doesn’t want to stop. I am really bad at math and failed physics in high school pretty much, but that’s what I do remember.
Look at you go and gently practice self-care! I bet your body smiles, and gives you a high five every day you get out there and get going. That reminds me, I wanted to squeeze in a long swim today. Thanks for the motivation!
Evenings are definitely tough @Circe…. but you have to change your evening habit or it won’t change. Do something, anything at all except drink. Read, excercise, crochet, excercise, grateful journal, library, woodwork, bicycle ride, play drums, etc etc. Be kind to yourself, you can do this, xxx
Hey @fannybrice, it’s a bummer being injured, so sorry for you, xxx. But try to do what you can with what you’ve got. Think outside of the box. Read, knit, dance, sing, write letters to yourself, loved ones or veterans in a hospital, swim, build up your strength, meditate…….the list is long of what you may be able to do. If you need/want inspiration, just google ‘aimee copeland’ & read her story. She has motivated me. Sending love your way!
D222, can’t wait til it’s 333, 444, 555 and on & on, Love to every SoberWarrior making it or tryin to make it. Come on, with 5300+ tribe members that got your back, stand tall, be proud of yourself, and know that you got this!!! Hang out here often & post, xxxx
Glad you recognize all the baggage. Time to say OK, it realize it, I’m done with it. I don’t want to be continuing the same cycle. Good for you @DaveS. As Gen said in Sober Stories, a well made garment is made of many individual perfect stiches. This is our life…it’s not made all at once, but just a bunch of individual stitches. Stitch by stitch. Read her story, you’ll be glad you did! xxx
Time for a change, dig deep for your commitment, ask your husband for support & hang out here for all the rest of the support that can help you overcome your drinking. Be Kind to Yourself, You can do this @SeaChangeInMe, xxx
Thank you @Mrs-D, for being a force to be reckoned with, leading the way, giving the ‘ trying to get & stay sober’ crowd a voice, a path, a way up & out, to LivingSoberFreedom. Thanks to you, many of us have found that Freedom, Lots of love to you! xx
Hang in there @lucy44, it will get better, give it some time. And hang out here, often, for the encouragement you need to keep going forward. Think of things you loved to do when you were a kid ie; swimming, reading, crocheting, climbing trees etc and do them. You’ll be surprised how this may help you. xxx
