Registered on the site not long after it started and now back feeling determined. Reading the posts is like holding a mirror up - and gives me hope that I can actually give it away for good. Similar story to many others. Mid forties, high functioning in many ways but with an unhealthy reliance on alcohol. Want to head toward 50 knowing that I have reached my full potential and living life authentically 100% of the time!!

Last day of 2017 seems a good time to check in again – 1082 days alcohol free and still going strong. Such a good feeling to have navigated another end of year! It can be the most difficult time. Nice work, day 24! One thing that has amazed me since becoming sober is how ingrained and normalised alcohol is as part of day to day life. I love being a role model now and showing that actually alcohol isn’t a requirement. Keep it up 🙂

Thanks! it is truly amazing not to miss it. Sunday nights (which it is in NZ) would normally be my red wine night. Had a sniff of my sons glass tonight and had a slight pang but very quickly reminded myself why it is necessary for me to stay on track 🙂
