The gym has been one of the best things for me in dealing with depression and drinking issues. I read an interview with Andy Murray a while ago where he was discussing some other player who he said needed to learn to love the gym. I completely get it now.
Yes definitely, whenever I hit the booze hard and then stop, I get very vivid dreams, sometimes to the point of lucid dreaming. It’s very strange. I take anti-depressants too though, and they have made my dreams much more vivid in general, even during periods of sobriety.
Been there CB77. It is a weird cycle of “Oh God, I have a problem. I really need to stop drinking.” Fast forward a few weeks or months even “Hah, that’s BS. I do NOT have a problem. I can surely moderate now and just have just that one glass.” Two bottles of wine later. “Oh fu@k.”
You got this. If you haven’t yet, I highly recommend reading Jason Vale’s “Kick the drink” book. It really helped me change the way I think and feel about alcohol. the first few pages are a bit hard to get through but then I could not put it down.
